Over one hundred years ago author [tag]Prentis Mulford[/tag] wrote a book entitled “Thoughts Are Things.â€
I like the phrase but it has always seemed more accurate to me to say that thoughts can become things.Â
Everything that we see around us that was created by man began as a thought in the mind of someone.Â
Everything that we see in nature began as a thought in the mind of God.Â
The late great radio show host and author [tag]Earl Nightingale[/tag] in his book “The Strangest Secret†stated that there are six magic words that changed his life from a life of poverty and despair to a life of opportunity, fame and fortune.
The six magic words are “you become what you think about.â€
The Bible sums up the phrase in another way by declaring that “you reap what you sow.â€
Working as a drug counselor for the past twenty years I have seen the truth in these statements confirmed over and over again.
You truly do become what you think about.  People tend to surround themselves with people and things that are a mirror reflection of their thoughts.Â
If you visit someone’s home what you see will usually be a reflection of what they have been thinking about up until now.Â
Many of the people who are chemically addicted share with me that they have thoughts of using drugs, dealing drugs, finding drugs, getting money to get drugs, loss and despair.Â
My challenge as a drug counselor is to get them to think new thoughts in order to attract more positive things into their lives.Â
Change your thoughts and you will change your life.Â
If you want wealth think thoughts of wealth, if you want courage think thoughts of courage. If you want peace think peaceful thoughts.  If you want success, think thoughts of success.Â
To Your Success,
Paul A. Shope
