Astonishing Display of Sportsmanship In Women’s Baseball Game

May 20th, 2008 · No Comments · Main

“One man practicing good sportsmanship is far better than 50 others preaching it.”
~Knute K. Rockne - Legendary U.S. Football Coach

I want to share a heartwarming story that has been making the rounds in my hometown of San Antonio, Texas.

This has to be the most astonishing display of good sportmanship or in this case sportswomanship that I have ever seen.

Sarah Tucholsky had never hit a homerun before and this was the last game of the year.

At just 5′2 she admits to not being a powerhitter but she connected with the ball perfectly and it sailed over the fence for an
apparent homerun.

Sarah ran towards first base but failed to touch the base on her way to second base.

When she realized this she turned back to return to first base when suddenly she felt a horrible pain in her knee and she dropped to the ground.

Sarah crawled back to first base.

Sarah was in agonziing pain as she clung to first base while lying on the ground .

Sarah was unable to walk yet the umpire said that the rules prevented her own players from assisting her around the bases to claim the homerun that she had earned.

Please watch the heart warming story below from ESPN Sports to see what happens next.
