Bikram Yoga is often called because it is performed in a room with a temperature of 95-100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Bikram Yoga is hot in another sense as well in that it is spreading like wildfire as the most popular form of yoga practiced in the world today.

Bikram yoga is a form of yoga developed by Yogiraj Bikram Choudhury. Bikram is the founder of the worldwide Yoga College of India.

At age 17 Bikram injured his knee in a weight lifting championship. Bikram was not expected to walk again but through the guidance of Ghosh, Bikram was able to heal his injured knee with the use of what is now known as Bikram yoga.

Ghosh then asked Bikram to start several yoga schools in India. The schools were so successful and helped so many people that Bikram yoga has spread throughout the world.

Choudhury’s method of Bikram yoga consists of a series of 26 yoga poses including two pranyama exercises each of which are performed in a 90 minute class.
